From November 13 – 19, 2023, Tim Hortons launched its first ever national Holiday Smile Cookie campaign. In Stratford, cookies were sold at the three Tim Hortons locations in support of the Stratford House of Blessing Food Bank and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

The campaign was a tremendous success, raising an impressive $7,006.19 for the food bank. Executive Director Eva Hayes expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are very grateful to be selected as the recipient for these funds. The money from this campaign will help our food bank meet the increasing demand that we are seeing in our community.”

The Stratford House of Blessing Food Bank is currently facing its highest-ever demand for services, witnessing a historic peak with 1692 food visits last month alone. This marks a 32% increase compared to the same period last year. Concurrently, supplementary programs such as Off to School Smiling and the Christmas Toy program have also seen an increase in registration numbers, reflecting the growing need for community support.

When asked about choosing to support Stratford House of Blessing Food Bank, franchisees Lisa MacDonald and Megan Adair both pointed towards the number of people that would benefit from the donation.

Stratford House of Blessing Food Bank, operating independently and reliant on funding from local individuals, groups, and businesses, extends a heartfelt appreciation to Tim Hortons, Lisa, and Megan for orchestrating the successful campaign. The community’s response was overwhelming, with each cookie purchase contributing to making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need in Stratford.
