We're Hiring for the position of: 

TEAM SUPPORT ASSOCIATE

 

The mission of the House of Blessing is to meet the needs of low-income individuals and families; providing food, and practical supports.  We are governed by a Board of Directors.  This position will put you in direct contact with volunteers, community members and clients. 

 

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and assist within all of areas of Stratford House of Blessing. They will develop a better understanding of non-profit organizations, which provide programs and services for disadvantaged community groups, specifically all people regardless of race, religion, age, gender or ability who need help in our community.

 

 

 

Responsibilities may include performing any/all of the following duties:

  • Support food bank & delivery program

  • Deliver food, pick-up donations and unload product as required

  • Perform custodial duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, sanitation and safety

  • General maintenance duties including shoveling snow

  • Assist as needed with all organizational programs and events

  • Assist in responding by telephone and in person to volunteer, client, and donor inquiries

  • Communicate effectively with participants, donors, volunteers and staff

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and assist in other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to respond to changes in programs and tasks as a result of COVID-19; and willingness to do any task that is requested

  • Ability to follow directions and work independently or as a team

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of people

  • A strong understanding of and ability to apply ethics and client-confidentiality

  • Required to have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract

  • Use of own vehicle and ability to drive company vehicles (cube truck and van) is required

  • Provide a current criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening

  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs repetitively

 

 

 

Conditions:

This is a 6 month contract position for 37.5 hours per week at $14.25 per hour.  Office hours are normally from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. however, some evening and weekend events may occur.
