Do I Qualify?
Our food bank is for anyone in need, who lives in Stratford and surrounding rural areas.
Call 519-273-3433 or use our contact form, to see if your address is within our food bank boundaries.
How do I register?
The first time you come you will need to fill out our registration form.
If you need help with the form, our staff or volunteers will help you.
Make sure to bring:
I.D. for everyone in your family who lives with you
knowledge about your income and expenses
proof of your address
your own grocery bags, if you have them
What do I do when I arrive for food bank?
When you come take:
a food bank form
Take a seat in our waiting room.
Our receptionist will call you up and make sure she has all of your correct information.
She will ask you:
Are there any changes to your address?
Do you have any dietary restrictions?
Are you pregnant or nursing?
If you have a baby who needs diapers or formula, make sure to ask.
When your food bank form has been completed by the receptionist, you will take a seat until a volunteer is available to help you.
How does the food bank work?
Your number will be called by a volunteer.
You then go to the food bank counter where you will be greeted.
The volunteer will look at your sheet so that he/she knows the food you qualify for.
The food bank works like a reverse grocery store.
The volunteer will ask you to choose between different items.
Then he/she will bring them to you and you will bag them.
What you are given will depend on:
the number of people in your family
whether or not there are children
the amount of items we have (depends on donations)
the seasons of the year (more fresh food in the summer and fall)
*Remember, we can only give you something if we have it!*
How can I help?
We give an average of 25 lbs of food to each individual who uses our food bank each month. That equals 163,300 lbs of food each year!
We can't give without your help!
Here are the ways you can help:
